Anthalys Presentation

Anthalys is a wild world, dominated from the inside out by its intricate and deadly plant life. Trees grow so large they form immense pillars, and massive branches stretch high into the sky. The layers of these branches form the lands of Anthalys. Here, monumental flowers and fruits serve as fortresses, and fantastic beasts of all shapes and sizes roam free. Kamis, the spirits of nature, exist on every level of Anthalys — including those that grow into the centre of the planet itself: an area that remains off-limits to the mere mortals who build their lives on the surface of things.

The people of Anthalys went to great lengths to create peace between their communities. The great Amber Wars almost saw the end of them, and they have learned the hard way that survival is a question of both respect and mutual assistance. Sparse, Ruze, and Tao’ri alike; none of them would have survived without the guidance of the Jissaï. This group brought help from the great Kamis, ending the Amber Wars and imposing the first rules of trade for this precious resource. The treasure that once divided the people of Anthalys became the very foundation of their long-lasting peace.

Over time, the Kamis grew closer to humanity. They soon became an important part of daily life, but nothing lasts forever. Our story of Anthalys begins in a time of great change. Dwindling amber supplies, and political intrigue threaten the peace that was so hard to achieve; and there are rumors that even the Kamis are turning dark, acting against humanity. But why?

The Ruze King does not care to find out, choosing to spend his time preparing for war with the nature spirits. The other tribes of Anthalys are not ready to trade their beliefs for the new religion of the Ruze king. Tension is building, while convoys of precious amber start disappearing and the few remaining Jissaï are being hunted down by Ruze assassins. Anthalys is once again on the brink of war. But without the Kamis and Jissaï, who will save them from themselves this time?

*I just hope it becomes available in the library of Yrkanis so I can check it out and go and sit under my favorite tree in the forest and read it where Torrius threatens down below… as I comptemplate that kami also live on another planet other than Atys, and wonder, what are they doing there?*
